Welcome To Tackle-It

Our aim is to raise awareness for mental health issues in young people.

Welcome to the Tackle-It Kick Out Stigma website, which has been set up by Burley Trojans Ladies football team. This website is not just aimed at football but at all sports and the need to help each other with our mental health. Each year there is a World Mental Health Day and a Mental Health week, but every day is a mental health day.

What we are aiming to do with the website is to help others in some way, be it helping them to find more about mental health, offer some tips to cope or sharing our experiences to help others.

It will endeavour to raise the awareness of mental illness and the stigma associated with it. It is hoped that through the medium of sport, such as football, cricket and athletics, we can reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.

The aim of this project is to look at the stigma associated with mental illness and, in football terms, Tackling It and with a little help, Kicking It Out!

  • We will raise awareness of mental health issues and we will raise awareness of the impact of stigma on individuals.
  • We will aim to offer support to individuals through a forum for positive sharing of experiences and links to other agencies that can offer help.
  • We will encourage people to share their experiences in order to help others.
  • We will ensure that everyone connected to Burley will have an awareness of mental health issues.
  • We will create a community forum that will encourage schools and colleges to raise awareness and encourage young people to talk and reduce stigma.
